How To Turn One Idea Into Multiple Products PLUS a WORKSHEET

TRUTH MOMENT: I am the queen of turning a simple idea into something bigger. I don't know what it is but my mind has always been trained to think on a large scale when it comes to EVERYTHING. Even if you were to begin to tell me about your new hobby, I will immediately start thinking of ways that you can turn it into a business and monetize off of it.

Although this often results in a lot more work filled nights than I'd like, expanding on a simple idea can often lead into multiple other products that you could sell or at least give you a few more blog post ideas! Today I wanted to share exactly how I often use one idea to create at least 6 more, I call it "The Breakdown Process" And you know there is a worksheet for you to use with this post, right?

1. WHAT ARE YOUR MOST POPULAR BLOG POSTS OR PRODUCTS?

Take a look at your analytics and see which blog posts or products have the highest traffic. Whatever you create next you want to make sure your audience is highly interested in and the best way to do that is to see what they already love!

2. BREAK THAT CONTENT DOWN INTO SMALLER PARTS

Lets say you wrote a blog post on "Starting A New Blog From Scratch". I'm sure that one post is extremely detailed and has a lot of different parts so lets break it down.

  • Picking the right platform for you.
  • How to brand your blog
  • How to spread the word about your blog
  • How to monetize your blog
  • How to use social media
  • How to grow your audience
  • How to come up with new content
  • How to find your target audience
  • How to successfully launch your blog

3. HOW CAN YOU EXPAND ON THOSE SUB-TOPICS?

Now that you have your list of sub-topics from that one idea, sit back and think about how far you could expand on each. What else could you add into those individual sub-topics to make it more in depth and helpful? A topic like "Picking The Right Blogging Platform" could easily become a new blog post comparing a few of the top blogging platforms, while a post like "How To Monetize Your Blog" could actually extend into an entire e-book!

For each sub-topic, break that down into even smaller topics. This will be the meat of your new post or product.

For Example, "How To Monetize Your Blog" could be broken down into:

  • How to get the most out of affiliate links
  • How to create an ebook
  • How to create your first e-course
  • How to properly price your products
  • Etc.

See where I'm going here?

4. Which topics could you change to cater to a slightly different audience?

So lets go back to your original idea, "How To Start A Blog From Scratch". If I were to write a post like that, I know that not all of my readers are bloggers or are interested in blogging. But I do know that a good majority of them are interested in starting their own online shop. So I would take that same post idea and turn it into "How To Start An Online Shop From Scratch" and go right back through the "break down" process. It really pays ya'll to know exactly who your target audience is!

You see how that process can immediately lead into new post or product ideas?

That's also exactly what I did with my first course "Leap and Launch". It originally started out being just one course teaching you how to start or grow your online business but after thinking on it for awhile and realizing how much I really do love the name "Leap and Launch" I have decided to break it down into more! Leap & Launch will soon be a new site featuring self-paced e-courses and e-books for creative-preneurs! I truly believe that it is essential to educate yourself if you want to start or grow a successful online business or blog BUT I also know that we don't always have the time to dedicate to a strict schedule.

You'll have access to all of the Leap & Launch e-courses for life and you can also take them whenever you like and complete them when your schedule see's fit. There will also be an amazing community that you'll get a chance to be apart of! If you've been reading this blog for sometime now them you know I can never sit on a simple idea for too long so I'm so excited for this new project! Head over to the site to be the first to know when it launches!
