One of the most common questions I get asked by my coaching clients is "How do I find inspiration?". Meaning inspiration for marketing, social media, connecting with your audience, blog post ideas, etc. And my answer is almost always "Go to your sister-brands".
A "sister brand" is a business or blogger who is currently where you hope to be. They are successful, well-known, profitable and exactly where you see yourself! Also known as your 'mentors in your head".
Once you find your brands, study them like you will be quizzed on it. How are they connecting with their audience? What types of content are they posting on social media? How often are they posting? Do they blog? What are they writing about? If they are successful then that means they are clearly doing something right. Even read up on some of their past interviews and see what types of advice they are giving. It Its amazing what you can learn from reading up on the journeys of others.
Now I must say this: DO NOT COPY THEM! Yes imitation is the biggest form of flattery but you don't wan't to be known as the blogger or business owner who just copies what everyone else is doing. Go with your gut and simply use them as inspiration to come up with your own original ideas for your brand.
