So Thanksgiving is like...next week. I don't know about you but I didn't realize how close the holidays were until about two weeks ago when I began to see hundreds of gift guides pop up (and then I followed along). Anyways, putting together holiday posts can be fun but also a hassle when you're trying to spend this time with your loved ones. No one wants to be stuck in front of a computer while their family and friends are in the next room laughing and catching up. Here are a few tips on how to prepare and manage your blog during this hectic time.
1. Create a list of holiday posts, sponsored posts and anything else coming up within the next few weeks. Knowing exactly what needs to be done is to first step to getting yourself prepared. Start off with the most important things like sponsored posts then work your way down.
2. Write and schedule your posts ahead of time. If you know you will be traveling or spending a lot of time away from your computer try getting those posts scheduled ahead of time so that you're not sacrificing family time for the blog.
3. Ask your blogger friends to guest post for you while you're away. Another great way to keep your blog active while you're enjoying your holiday time is to ask your blogging buddies to donate guests posts while you're away. This not only gives them new exposure but also keeps your traffic coming in.
4. Let your readers know that you won't be posting + enjoy your holiday! I did this last year. It is 100% ok to take a little break from blogging to go out and enjoy the time you have with your family. I promise your blog and your readers will be there when you get back!
