A Few Thoughts About "9 to 5's" + Entrepreneurship
First off, thank you so much to everyone for watching my video yesterday and putting up with my terrible country accent! All of your kind words definitely made me smile the entire day and I'm so happy to know that a lot of you could relate to it! I was asked a few things via social media and text message yesterday about my thoughts on 9 to 5's and entrepreneurship but one stood out to me the most and really made me think. Since Twitter will only let me say so much I figure I'd explain here.
The Question: If presented with the opportunity would you go back to a "9 to 5"?
I honestly don't see that happening. I have been making my own rules, waking up when I please and have poured a lot of time and money into my business. But I'll NEVER say never. If the opportunity was a once in a lifetime type situation and I would be able to do something that I really enjoyed (something in marketing/public relations), then I would definitely consider it. And the pay would have to be amazing! And even if I did take the position I would still be 100% committed to the blog and my business and my ultimate goal would still be to work for myself fully. That is where my heart is.
At the entrepreneurship event I went to a few weeks ago one of the panelist talked about why entrepreneurs should have multiple streams of income. There is absolutely nothing wrong with having a few different side hustles (as long as they are legal). So if I did go back to a 9 to 5, I would just look at it as another way for me to get money. I know I expressed my hatred for my last job in the video yesterday but I don't wan't anyone to think I'm knocking working for someone else. Like I said no matter what you are doing you should be happy and not just a "I'm happy for the moment" type of deal you should be deep down in your soul genuinely happy. You feel me?
What are your thoughts on "9 to 5's" and entrepreneurship? If you are a business owner would you go back?
But enough business talk. Today I want to introduce you to the Texas native, Ashley of A Faithful Passion. She's a girly girl who LOVES flowers and I have absolutely enjoyed getting to know her over the past couple weeks!
What is your favorite part about blogging?
I enjoy blogging because it allows me to be open & honest regarding the things I enjoy or over certain topics. It's always been easier for me to express myself when I write verses saying it out loud.
If you could take over anyone's blog for a day who's would it be?I would take over Bella's blog Dateless In Dallas (http://www.datelessndallas.
com) because she always has an adventure going! I enjoy reading her posts because I can also relate to being a single gal in the south. It's 3 pm on a Saturday, what are you most likely doing?I would be catching up on the week's shows that I've recorded or possibly at the gym working out. I tend to relax more on Saturday unless I have something planned. What's your favorite inspirational quote?"I don't mind living in a man's world as long as I can be a woman in it." -Marilyn MonroeThis quote is inspirational to me because it's telling every woman that she can be herself within this testosterone filled world! There will always be a place in this world where I can be a woman & not have to worry about changing for anyone
