Blog, Inc. Book Review

I'm getting a lot more serious about my blog and learning the "ins and outs" of the blogging world. So of course my latest read is dedicated to blogging. Blog, Inc: Blogging for Passion, Profit and to Create Community is a "everything you NEED to know" book written by Joy Deangdeelert Cho. Joy is the very successful owner of the design blog Oh Joy! and has been blogging since 2005. Needless to say she knows a thing or two about blogging. I first discovered Blog, Inc roaming around the entrepreneur section in Barnes and Noble and had to add it to my reading list. This book is truly amazing, reading it the past two weeks has made me look at my blog totally different (but in a good way).

First off, the way Joy breaks down the whole process of blogging I would suggest reading this book as your blog grows ESPECIALLY if your just starting a blog (like me) or if you are still in the planning stages of starting your blog. Right from the start Joy gets into why you should start a blog, the different types of blogs and what your blog should consist of. Through out the book Joy also interviews some very influential bloggers on different topics and how they got started. Two of my favorites, Naomi Davis from Rockstar Diaries and Emily Schuman from Cupcakes and Cashmere were also included in the books interviews.

Joy literally breaks down everything about turning your blog into an actual business. From giving you tips on how to find "your voice", choosing your blog/domain name, getting sponsors to future growth. Blog, Inc is definitely one of those business reference books to keep on your shelf for future questions. If you would like to purchase Blog, Inc you can do so HERE.

My Favorite Part: NETWORKING, SEO and TAXES all of the things that I have been having questions about and could use not only with my blog but my business as well.
